INSPECTIONS
SMOKE/CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR INSPECTION
Payments can be made online at www.peabody-ma.gov. Click the link at the top for the Payment Center then click the link for Fire Permits. This will direct you to Unibank's website. Click the link for Smoke/Carbon Monoxide. Enter the fee and complete the form, remembering to enter your preferred inspection date.
1-2 units $50.00/unit
3-6 units $150.00
7+ units $500.00
$25 fee If a reinspection is necessary.
Valid for 60 days
Appointments are on Monday & Friday only between 9:30 - 11:30. This is a two-hour window. An adult must be at the residence no later than 9:30 on their scheduled date.
Inspections for Monday must be scheduled no later than 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Inspections for Friday must be scheduled no later than 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.

RESIDENTIAL TANK REMOVAL INSPECTION
$20 fee (under 1100 gallons)
$25 fee (over 1100 gallons)
If the tank is underground, a Dig Safe number is required
Permit must be obtained prior to the tank removal
Tank must be inspected the day of removal before being taken off the property
COMMERCIAL TANK REMOVAL INSPECTION
$25 fee (under 1100 gallons)
$100 fee (over 1100 gallons)

TANK TRUCK INSPECTION
$20 fee
Tank Truck Inspections are valid for two years.
You must provide a copy of the vehicle registration, the location where the vehicle is parked overnight and the amount being stored prior to the appointment.
